GoI allows diversion of 1136 hectare of forest land in ParsaEast and Kete Basan Coal Block area for mining work

Sarguja:Day after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot visited Chhattisgarh to meet Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel over coal block allocation issue, Government of India, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, New Delhi on March 26 granted permission for the diversion of 1136 hectare of forest land in Surguja Forest Division of Surguja district for coal mining.

The Government of India has allowed the mining of coal from Parsa East and Kete Basan Coal Block (PEKB) under SurgujaForest Division after completion of formalities associated with it.

The District Collector and Divisional Forest Officer have been directed by the Government of Chhattisgarh to take necessary action by following the conditions mentioned in the permission issued by the government of India.

After examining the compliance of action plan by the District Collector and Divisional Forest Officer, the final decision regarding starting mining will be taken.
