The hostel children have told through sign language that a man having beard
allegedly forced them, torn their clothes and assaulted them.

This
was the incident in which a specially-abled 17-year-old girl was raped and five
other minors were sexually assaulted and beaten inside a government-run
residential training center in tribal Jashpur district. Two accused have been
arrested in this case. The accused are the caretaker and watchman of the
hostel.

It
is alleged that on September 22, in the Samarth Divyang Center run by Rajiv
Gandhi Education Mission under the Mineral Trust item at the district
headquarters, the caretaker and watchman of hostel allegedly molested and
forced the girls living there.

The
Rajiv Gandhi Education Mission Department officials had maintained silence
about this incident on Wednesday. However, after the incident came to the fore
on social media, Jashpur collector Mahadev Kawre and Jashpur SP Vijay Aggarwal
got information about it.

Additional
SP Pratibha Pandey was sent to the hostel with the women’s team, and also sent
an interpreter to communicate with the differently-abled girls. After the
ongoing investigation since Friday morning, on Friday evening, 6 girls living
there told the whole incident, due to which two accused involved in the
incident were taken into custody.

On
Friday evening, two people, who are the caretaker and watchman there, were
taken into custody and interrogated and later arrested. The matter of raping a
girl child and molesting five girls has come to the fore in the investigation.
All the girls have got their medical done. On Saturday, both the accused
Narendra Bhagat and Rajesh Ram were arrested and presented before the court on
medical examination.
