Ensure presence of officers in House during discussion: Dr Mahant to Choubey

Raipur:The Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Charandas Mahant asked Parliamentary Affairs Minister RavindraChoubey to make sure that officers remain present in the Officers’ Gallery of the House when Members speaking about the problems of their constituencies during the proceedings of the House.

BJP MLA and Member of the House Brijmohan Agrawal and other senior leaders of the party drew the attention of the Speaker towards the empty seats of Officers’ Gallery and said that the Members of the House raise issues and problems related to their respective constituencies. The issues are connected to all the departments of the state government, said Agrawal, adding if the senior officials will remain absent during the discussion then who will note the problems and sort out.  Agrawalalso drew the attention of the Chair towards some seats of ministers lying vacant in the House during the budget discussion. 

Taking a serious note of the issue, Speaker Dr Mahant gave his ruling and asked the Parliamentary Affairs Minister to ensure officers stay in during the discussion. In response, Minister Choubey said that he will ensure it.
