Court extends remand of suspended IPS G P Singh till Jan 18

Raipur:The IPS claimed that he is being forced to implicate former CM Dr Raman Singh and his wife in NAN scam.

The local court on Friday denied bail to suspended IPS G P Singh and extended his police remand till January 18. This means, G P Singh, who has been arrested on the charge of various offences, will be interrogated by the Police and the EOW during the remand period. 

After the two-day remand of the suspended IPS was over, he was produced in the court for hearing where EOW had again sought remand. The court of Leena Agrawal sent Singh on remand till 2 pm on January 18.

While leaving the court premises on Friday, G P Singh told media that all these drama are being staged by this state government when he refused to implicate former chief minister Dr Raman Singh and his wife Veena Singh in the NAN scam. There was pressure on Singh to implicate Dr Raman Singh and Veena Singh, said G P Singh while speaking to media. The allegation of not cooperating with the investigation is absolutely false, asserted G P SIngh

GP Singh tolf media, “I am cooperating the investigative agency and the police in the investigation. I have no objection and problem in staying in police remand.”

According to G P Singh’s lawyer, the police had sought remand of IPS G P Singh on the basis of allegations that Singh was no cooperative in the investigation. The lawyer said that the allegation is baseless.
