CM Bhupesh Baghel to launch Shri Dhanwantri Dava Yojana on October 20, 188 medical stores will open in 169 cities of Chhattisgarh to provide medicines at half price
Raipur: As many as 188 medical
stores will be opened in 169 cities of Chhattisgarh under Shri Dhanwantri Dava
Yojana in which patients will be given more than 50 per cent discount on Maximum
Retail Selling Price (MRP).
Chief Minister Bhupesh
Baghel will launch this scheme on October 20.
The scheme will be launched with 85 Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical
Stores. The remaining shops will also start by the end of this month. In the next
phase, arrangements will also be made for home delivery of medicines from these
shops.
“Our government has
taken many effective steps to provide the benefit of government schemes to the
poor and deprived sections. Taking another initiative in this direction, Shri
Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores are being started. Now affordable medicines
will be accessible to all. Efforts will
be made to spread the benefits of this scheme to as many people as possible.
This will reduce the burden of expenditure on medicines. Through this scheme we will be able to
realize the vision of Sabbo Swasth-Jammo Sugghar”, said chief minister Bhupesh
Baghel.
Urban Administration
Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahriya has said that Seva-jatan-sarokar is the motto of
government of Chhattisgarh. This is being realized by the government through
the scheme.
Meanwhile, the
expansion of health facilities in Chhattisgarh has been the top priority of the
state government. Several initiatives
have been taken in this direction in rural as well as urban areas. In urban areas, facilities have been extended
to the ground level through Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme, City Diagnostic
Centre, Dai Didi Clinic etc. In this
sequence, now Shree Dhanwantri Yojana is being started to provide high quality
subsidized medicines to the common citizens.
Under the scheme, Shri
Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores are being opened in all 169 urban bodies of
the state with the help of the government.
188 shops have been identified by the urban bodies. Various items including 251 medicines, 27
surgical items will be available in these shops. Quality herbal products manufactured by the
Minor Forest Produce Association will also be available in these shops. In these shops, generic medicines of reputed
companies of the country will be sold.
Along with common diseases like cold, cough, fever, blood pressure,
medicines for serious diseases, antibiotics, surgical items will also be
available.
All these items will be available at Maximum
Retail Price (MRP) with a discount of more than 50 percent. Competitive tender
was invited by the civic bodies to get the discount rate, in which more than 50
per cent discount rate was received in all the bodies. Shops are being provided
on rent by the Municipal Corporation to the operators of Shri Dhanwantri
Generic Medical Store at an attractive rate of Rs.2 per sq.ft. Along with this, assurance has also been
given to buy medicines in other schemes from these medical stores. The
responsibility of successful operation of the scheme has been given to the UPSS
constituted under the chairmanship of district collector.
