The Division Bench of the Chief Justice, while hearing the matter, issued a notice seeking reply from the government by January 5, 2022.

The state government has now decided to produce ready-to-eat food to be distributed to women and children through Anganwadi centers through automatic machines. This proposal has been approved in the cabinet meeting held on November 22. The government believes this will improve the system and quality of food.

A PIL has been filed by women self-help groups challenging this decision through advocates Rajiv Dubey and Rohitashwar Singh on behalf of 20,000 women working for Ready to Eat.

It has been said in the PIL that the state government has passed the decision without giving notice and opportunity of hearing. Due to this, 20,000 women working in this sector will face other problems including the upbringing of their families.
