Central Government felicitated the tribal women of Chhattisgarh for their excellent work in the field of food processing

Raipur: In a
prestigious event held in New Delhi, tribal women of Kondagaon district in
Chhattisgarh were felicitated by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises, Government of India, for their outstanding work in the field of
food processing. Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma, Minister of State for MSME,
presented this award to the tribal women of Chhattisgarh, for manufacture of
agricultural food products and promotion of women entrepreneurship.

The $5 Trillion Economy
– Investment and Business Summit cum Awards program was organized by the
Ministry of MSME in New Delhi. At this program, the Consultant Siddharth Pandey
received the award on behalf of the awardees women group.

The women of
tribal-dominated Kondagaon district have formed Udaan Mahila Kisan Producer
Company, which manufactures and sells agricultural food products under the
brand name Kondanar. There are 10 Board of Directors in this company and more
than 30 women self-help groups are involved. These women self-help groups
manufacture more than 30 food items including pickles, chutneys, milkshakes,
cookies, tikhurs, coconut oil etc. Kondagaon Collector Pushpendra Meena said
that through this company, more than 200 tribal women have got regular employment
and a minimum salary of Rs 7500 per month. He informed that Kondanar is
becoming a popular brand in the country as well as in the world. The products
of Kondagaon’s Udan were also placed on the virtual platform of Dubai Expo.
People from many countries showed interest in the products of this brand.

Chhattisgarh chief minister
Bhupesh Baghel congratulated the awardees tribal women of the state and said
that these tribal women of Chhattisgarh have become social entrepreneurs and a
source of inspiration for many. Their dedication and perseverance has given a
new identity to the traditional taste.

Rahul Gandhi had also
enjoyed the taste of these products

MP Rahul Gandhi, who
visited Raipur last month, had also tasted the food products of Kondanar brand.
He had especially praised the taste of tangy milkshake.
