CCTV cameras to be installed in villages of Durg dist to curb crime
Raipur: CCTV cameras will be installed at the intersections and entrances of the villages of Durg district to prevent crimes.
By taking a meeting with the villagers, the officers are making them aware to install cameras. These cameras will be installed at village squares and entrances. Sarpanch of some villages have come forward for this. Farmers will also cooperate in getting CCTV installed in these villages.
The officers are appealing to the people of the village, including sarpanch and panch, to install cameras outside their homes as well. Police say that this will curb miscreants and crimes in rural areas as well as urban areas.
CCTV will be installed at the intersections and entrances.
ASP Ananth Kumar of Durg Rural said that if we talk about the crime rate in the city and the village, then it is in the ratio of 80-20. If we can get CCTV installed in the village then these crimes will be even less. With the help of these cameras, the police will be able to easily trace the criminals and send them behind the bars. For this, the problems being faced in the village have also been discussed with the villagers. Now people are coming to him instead of being afraid of the police.
SP BN Meena is also joining this meeting and appealing to the people about the cameras. He said that many people have also agreed with this noble initiative. The Sarpanch and public representatives have also assured that they will get CCTV installed in the square and squares of the village. He said that CCTVs play an important role in curbing criminals. That is why efforts are being made to install it in the village also.
