Brawl between hotel staff and baratis in Bilaspur hotel
Raipur: In a major on Tuesday evening, a reputed hotelier in Bilaspur and his staff allegedly entered into brawl during a marriage function over car parking. According to information, Grand Amba Hotel of Bilaspur literary turned into a battlefield when the baratis and hotel staff exchanged fists. Hotel owner and his staff beat the baratis who in turn attacked the hotel staff, sources said.
The video of the incident went viral. Meanwhile, when the baratis reached the police station for filing a report against the hotel owner and staff, they were detained for nearly three hours. The Civil Lines police was crowded by the baratis and their relatives waiting for the report to be filed till late evening on Tuesday.
Businessman Mohan Jaiswani, a resident of Hemunagar, Bilaspur, had booked Grand Amba Hotel located Telephone Exchange Road, for his son Santosh Jaiswani’s marriage function. When the baratis started leaving the function venue after attending the marriage function, they had dispute with the hotel management over parking in the basement of the hotel. The quarrel started when an employee asked one of the baratis to remove the car.
After the brawl, baratis took one the injured baratis to the police station. However, police tried to compromise on the influence of hotel owner.
According to hotel owner Ashok Tuteja, the guard of the hotel denied parking to a barati and asked for the key to park the car properly. The barati instead of cooperating with the guard, started shouting at the guard and beating him, said Tuteja. The CCTV footage of the hotel shows who is guilty, said Tuteja, adding his hotel has neither a Bar nor bouncers.
