BJP has accepted the defeat in civic body polls, Singh Deo
Raipur: Health minister T S Singh Deo, said that
there is nothing to worry about the new variant of Covid-19 if someone remains
alert and follow all Covid protocols. Deo was talking to the reporters at the
Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur on his return from Delhi on Tuesday
evening. He said that Omicron, the new variant of Covid, has so far not found that
much dangerous, but research continues on it. According to scientists, Covid-19
will last longer keeping in view the present situation, Deo said.
The minister said that a team of Chhattisgarh has
studied the cases of Omicron variant of the Covid-19. Besides, the virus has
also been studied and researched by others. According to the studies, any serious
consequences of the new variant were not found. Research on whether the
existing vaccines will be effective to control Omicron is going on, Deo said.
A meeting with the team of experts in Delhi will be
held in the coming day, Deo said, adding he will raise the issue of General
Frequencing Machine in the meeting. If the talks remain successful then a
machine will be installed in Chhattisgarh.
On civic body polls slated for December 20 in the
state, Deo said that a Congress candidate has been elected as corporator
unopposed in the district which is under his charge. He said that the Congress
was in a comfortable position in almost all local bodies. Despite it, Congress
takes the election seriously. ‘I think BJP has accepted the defeat,” said Deo.
