Bilaspur Collector expresses dissatisfaction over progress  of work in Arpa project

Bilaspur:Collector Dr Saransh Mittar on Thursday inspected the work of Arpa Utthan (revival of Arpa) and maintenance of the river banks and expressed displeasure over absence of adequate n umber of engineers at the project sites. It is worthwhile to mention, the work is being done by the Bilaspur Smart City Limited. Dr Mittar instructed the Managing Director of the Smart City Limited to ensure deployment of adequate number of engineers in the project for proper monitoring and execution of the work. The Collector gave instructions to complete the entire project by June, 2022 by increasing the manpower and machinery.

Furnishing details on the progress, MD Tripathi said that after desilting and leveling, work on road, construction of blocks and preparation of wall is being done. Seeing the progress, Collector said that the entire area proposed for the project should be seen simultaneously, for this he instructed to work by dividing the entire project into different parts. 

During the inspection, the Collector expressed displeasure over the encroachments at the Chantidih on the banks of the river and directed to remove the same immediately. 

Apart from this, businessmen who had encroached on the banks of the river in Shanichari Bazar and Godparaarea were removed in the past, where efforts are being made to encroach againInstructions were also given to the manager of the company to use adequate manpower and machinery to complete work on time.
