Mortal remains of martyr Colonel Viplav Tripathi bought to Raigarh today

remains of the martyr Colonel Viplav Tripathi were bought to hometown Raigarh
today.

Earlier, the mortal
remains of the martyr Colonel were to reach Raipur on Sunday. The mortal
remains directly reached Jindal Airstrip in Raigarh. Hundred of people gathered to join the last journey of Colonel. 

Five jawans, including
Commandant Viplav Tripathi (41), elder son of Raigarh-based senior journalist
Subhash Tripathi, were martyred in a militant attack on November 13 in Manipur.
Anuja Shukla (37) the wife of Colonel Viplav Tripathi, commanding officer of
the Assam Rifles, and Abir Tripathi were also killed in the attack. He was
coming with his family when his vehicle was attacked.

The convoy of colonel
was attacked in Manipur when he was going to the check post. He was accompanied
by his wife and children when he was attacked. In this attack, along with the
colonel, his wife and child, four soldiers were also martyred. Colonel Tripathi
of Khuga Battalion of Assam Rifles, his wife Anuja (36) and son Abir (5) and
four other personnel of the force were killed in the ambush by the militants.
Colonel Tripathi was a resident of Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. The body of the
martyr was about to reach Raipur in the evening itself, however it was
postponed.
