Supported by the
Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association, this “Kalam band” protest of
the Chhattisgarh Public Relations Officers Association was proven to be a
complete success. No official information, news, releases, and advertisements have
been issued by the public relations department in the entire state. Besides,
the Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association strongly supported these
demands of the Public Relations Department and staged a protest in the entire state
by putting a black band.

Keeping in view the
importance of the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh
High Court and the honor of the post of Governor, the Governor’s office press cell
was kept aside from the protest. Similarly, in view of the law and order
situation in Kawardha, Kawardha District Public Relations Office was also kept
free from this protest in the public interest.

On the call of the Chhattisgarh Public Relations Officers Association, there was a complete lockdown in all the public relations offices of the state including the state capital.
The historical effect of this protest was seen in all the public relations
offices across the state. In the Directorate of Public Relations and all the
public relations offices, the attendance of all the staff including officers
and employees remained zero and the offices remained closed.

Hundreds of members of the Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association, under the strong leadership
of President Kamal Verma strongly supported the demands of the Chhattisgarh Public
Relations Officers Association and showed a tremendous demonstration by putting
up a black band as a part of the protest.

A demand was made for the immediate
removal of the junior officer of the State Administrative Service from the post
of Director. Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association President Kamal
Verma said that there is no dearth of qualified officers in all departments. In
such a situation, the appointment of officers of the State Administrative
Service to the post of Head of the Department is against the rules as well as
insulting for the senior officers of the department.

He added that it is
very important to stand against this injustice, otherwise state administrative
officers will be appointed in all the departments.

Gazetted officers are
the backbone of all the departments of the government, they cannot be ignored
like this. All gazette officers are united against this injustice. Chhattisgarh
Gazetted Officers Association has demanded that if the state government does
not take immediate action by taking cognizance of the demands of the union,
then the Gazetted Officers Association will be compelled to launch a fierce
agitation at the state level in the future.

The Chhattisgarh Public
Relations Officers Association has demanded that in case of non-posting of an IAS
officer, according to the rules, the senior departmental officer should be
posted on the post of Public Relations Director, but in any case, it is not
right to post a State Administrative Service officer.

The Public Relations
Officers Association has made it clear that even after this protest, the
officers-employees will work only by wearing black bands till the demands are
not fulfilled and if the demands are not met soon, this movement will be
intensified.
