Chief Minister greets people of the state on National Tourism Day

Raipur: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has greeted people of the state on the occasion of National Tourism Day on 25 January.

In his congratulatory message, Baghel said that tourism is an important part of the economy.  Tourism industry not only provides people an opportunity to learn about the local cultural, geographical, natural, historical sites, but also opens new avenues of livelihood for thousands of families. This is the reason why the state government is working on an action plan to promote tourism in the state by developing its ancient heritage.

Baghel said that the tourism sector of Chhattisgarh with its rich archaeological heritage and natural diversities, is establishing its identity at national-level. Archaeological evidence of the coexistence of Shaiva, Vaishnava, Buddhist and Jain sects can be found in Sirpur. Sita Bengra cave in Ramgarh of Surguja, oldest theater, Chitrakot in Bastar, waterfalls of Tirathgarh, Kutumsar caves, and many such places of archaeological, religious and tourism significance are located in Chhattisgarh. Champaran has special religious significance as the birthplace of Mahaprabhu Vallabhacharya. Places where Lord Shri Ram visited during his exile in the holy land of Chhattisgarh are being developed as Ram Van Gaman Path.
