A shocking murder has taken place in Raipur, where a minor argument over cold bhajiyas turned into a brutal killing. A 27-year-old dairy worker was allegedly murdered by his own friend in the Kachna area under Khamardih police station limits. The incident occurred inside Sahu Milk Dairy and was captured on CCTV.
The deceased has been identified as Durgesh Dhritlahre, while the accused is Sunny Sahu, who has been arrested by the police.
Drunken argument led to violence
According to the police, the incident happened on the night of 23 December, when both men were consuming alcohol together. Durgesh had brought bhajiyas to eat, but Sunny complained that they were cold. The argument quickly escalated into a violent fight.
Attack with iron rod and knife
In a fit of rage, Sunny Sahu allegedly attacked Durgesh with an iron rod and a knife. The CCTV footage shows the accused dragging the victim, hitting him repeatedly with the rod, and punching him brutally.
Dairy owner informed police
After the incident, the dairy owner, Chintu Sahu, informed the police around 1 am. He reported that both workers were missing and there were bloodstains in the room.
Accused tried to save him later
Police said that after the attack, Sunny Sahu initially fled, but later took Durgesh to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital to seek medical help. However, doctors declared him brought dead.
Witnesses at the hospital saw the accused sitting near the body and crying before he was arrested by the police.
FIR registered, accused in judicial custody
The police registered an FIR against Sunny Sahu. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, stating that the murder happened after a minor argument during drinking. He was produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
