Chhattisgarh police’s anti-Naxal operation yielding positive results, 57 Naxalites surrendered in March, 37 arrested

Raipur: The joint action of Chhattisgarh Police and
paramilitary forces that draws Naxalites to join the mainstream of society is
yielding positive results with Naxal-activities confining into just few pockets
in Chhattisgarh. According to information received from DIG (Naxal Operations),
as many as 57 Naxalites have surrendered in the month of March, making the
anti-Naxal operation of police successful. Meanwhile, a total of 37 Naxalites
have also been arrested and 04 Naxalites have been killed in different
encounters with police in the month of March. Besides, during the anti-Naxal
operation, the police has recovered 05 weapons and seized and defused 20 IEDs
in Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma districts.

According to the information received from DIG
(Naxal Operation), continuous patrolling and search work is being done by
police and paramilitary forces in the dense forest and hilly regions of
worst-Maoist affected Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma districts. During this,
encounters between the police and paramilitary forces are also being witnessed.
Anti-Naxal campaign is being run by Chhattisgarh Police to curb Maoist
activities in the state. The joint operation of police and paramilitary forces
is going on which is reaping success.
