Congress releases election manifesto, promises to make Khairagarh a district
Raipur:
Khairagarh residents can look forward to an announcement of it becoming a
district if Congress party candidate wins in the upcoming by-elections. The promise
has been made by the ruling congress party in Chhattisgarh in its election
manifesto released today by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.
It
has been promised that as soon as the Congress candidate registers victory in
the by-election, an announcement will be made in just 24 hours to make Khairagarh
a district. The district will be named Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai.
The
election manifesto comprises of 29 promises. It has been promised to establish
a statue of former MLA and late Raja Devvrat Singh. Along with this, building a
new tehsil, new sub-tehsil, English school, hospital, betel research center, and
hi-tech bus stand has also been mentioned. State in-charge and former MP PL
Punia, PCC President Mohan Markam along with ministers and MLAs were also
present on the occasion.
Mounting
an attack on the saffron party, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel said the party
has only one work of cheating people in the last 15 years. Nothing has been
spoken in the farmer’s interest. Khairagarh remained neglected in the BJP regime.
The
Chief Minister said that these are people who appear while seeking votes, then
turn their backs. They did the same with the people of Khairagarh. He said that
the workers are the strength of Congress. He said that this by-election is
a semi-final of the assembly elections. Its victory will open the way forward.
