Lord Jesus Christ showed the path of love and harmony, this is also the ‘basic mantra’ of development: Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur:
Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday participated in Christmas prayers at
St. Paul’s Cathedral in Raipur. He prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and
safety of the people of the state. He extended his warmest greetings and best
wishes to everyone on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Christmas.

“Love,
mercy, compassion, and faith in God is the only way to salvation, which has
been shown by Lord Jesus Christ. Love and social harmony are necessary for
development. These values are instilled in the culture of Chhattisgarh and are
also the ‘basic mantras’ of Chhattisgarh government”, said the chief minister on
the occasion.

Remembering
the great sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ, Baghel said “he has shown us the path
to serve the needy embracing his own sufferings. These teachings of Lord have
relevance in today’s world where there has been a rapid erosion of human values
all over the world in the last two-three decades, inciting an atmosphere of
violence and hatred.”

Emphasizing
the need to follow the path shown by Lord Jesus, the chief minister said “We all
need to remember and follow his teachings. The path of hatred leads to war and
unrest, while the path of love brings peace and harmony. Our Chhattisgarhi
culture is one with peace-loving traditions, promoting social harmony. Respect
for all kinds of beliefs and traditions is the most significant quality of our
culture.”

He
added saying that “We have worked to strengthen our social fabric along with
building infrastructure in the last three years. We pledged to build ‘Nava
Chhattisgarh’ (new Chhattisgarh) after coming to power. Our dreams of building
that Chhattisgarh is now turning into reality, which can now be seen by all.”

As
a part of Christmas celebrations, the chief minister cut the Christmas cake with
the people present in the Cathedral. Everyone present in the church offered
their prayers to the Lord Jesus. The church choir presented carol songs.

Chhattisgarh
Housing Board Chairman Kuldeep Juneja, State Minorities Commission, Chhattisgarh,
Chairman Mahendra Chhabra, MLA Renu Jogi, Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, former MLA
Amit Jogi, and a large number of people belonging to the Christian community
were present on the occasion.
