MLA Shailesh Pandey reviews preps for prevention of Covid in Bilaspur

 

He issued necessary directives to the CIMS doctors and health department officials.

Bilaspur:Bilaspur City MLA Shailesh Pandey on Sunday reviewed the preparations for the prevention of Covid-19. He asked the health department officials of Bilaspur to handle the children affected by Covid-19 carefully. MLA Pandey said in the meeting that 10% children are infected with Covid-19 and it is their responsibility to cure every infected patient. He said that maximum patients are at home and asked for the visit of specialist doctors to prevent arbitrariness of private hospitals in dealing with Covid patients.

All RT-PCR testing machines of CIMS will be made operational so that the test reports are produced soon after the collection of the samples.

Pandey held a detailed discussion in the meeting at Central Library Hall Sarkanda of the Health Department. He gathered information about beds available for patients, oxygen and other facilities in the meeting. 


The health officials said in the meeting that at present 1675 active patients are isolated in home. Such patients are being made to follow covid guidelines issued by the state and central government.

According to the data of the Health Department, about 150 children are corona infected who have not been able to get the vaccine according to the guidelines.

Along with this, the airport and railways provide information to the Health Department for foreign nationals and citizens coming from other states, through which the tracing process is done. 

Giving information about the vaccination of children, the officials said that a total of 1.10 lakh children of age group between 15 and 18 are to be vaccinated with Covid vaccine, for which a target of 10 days has been fixed, while 46000 children have been administered vaccines so far. Special camps are being held in schools for vaccination of children between the above age group.

Giving information regarding testing, health officials said that about 4000 people are being tested for corona every day. For this, three parameters have been set, the passenger reaches the airport through air travel from abroad and other states, they are being randomly tested, as well as corona through contact tracing of people traveling by railway and bus.


Giving information to the city MLA Shailesh Pandey, the CIMS doctors said that the samples for RTPCR test are coming from Bilaspur and adjoining districts Gaurela Pendra MarwahiMungeliBaloda Bazar to CIMS. Presently five Corona Testing RTPCR machines are installed in Virology Lab of CIMS, out of which three machines are being operated. Two machines are lying idle due to lack of staff. On it, MLA Shailesh Pandeyimmediately spoke to Director Health Services Neeraj Bansodon phone and apprised him of the problem. Bansod assured of resolving the issue soon.

MLA Pandey clarified that no hesitation should be there in the treatment of any patient, arrangement of 2 ventilators including 8 beds has been made for children in CIMS, while in the district hospital there is a provision of 10 beds and 1 ventilator.

In order to check the arbitrariness of private hospitals, the Health Department will inspect private hospitals by forming a team of specialist doctors, it was said in the meeting. At the same time, it has been said to take necessary steps to rectify the bills and arrangements.
