Raipur Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad cited a statement made by Rahul’s grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, saying, “I would like to tell Rahul Gandhi one thing that his grandmother (Indira Gandhi) made a statement that is going viral on social media. She said we need to rise above caste.” Prasad questioned whether Rahul Gandhi had learned anything from his grandmother’s statement, given his family’s significant influence in politics. He was in Raipur to hold a meeting on Raipur rural constituency. Ravi Shankar Prasad also took the opportunity to address the current Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel, and the upcoming elections. He warned the Congress party, saying, “The BJP will not leave any corruption scandal. We want to make it clear, our government is being formed. The way Ajit Jogi lost, an even bigger defeat awaits you. No corrupt person will be spared by the BJP government. What happened to Ajit’s government in 2003 will happen to the Congress this time.” Prasad emphasized that the BJP is committed to representing all sections of society. He revealed that the party had distributed tickets to 31 OBCs, 30 Adivasis, and 10 Scheduled Caste candidates in Chhattisgarh. He also highlighted the inclusion of women in politics, stating, “We have 43 women contesting for the first time. The BJP has the most MPs from the OBC category in the country. Leaders from the ST and SC categories are in the BJP. The BJP has the most MLAs, and 11 ministers in our government come from the OBC community. The Prime Minister himself comes from the OBC community, so we are working on this.” Furthermore, Prasad raised concerns about religious conversion issues in Chhattisgarh. He mentioned, “There are issues of religious conversion in Chhattisgarh. The government is protecting it, I won’t go into more detail; it is a sensitive subject. There are no actions being taken here. There was an attack on a temple in Bhilai, on the Shiv Parvati temple. So what kind of hypocrisy is it when I am a devotee of Lord Ram?” Prasad questioned the actions of Congress leaders who identify as devotees of Lord Ram while criticizing the Ram Van Gaman Path project. Finally, Ravi Shankar Prasad discussed corruption and scams in Chhattisgarh, drawing parallels to the Bihar fodder scam. He remarked, “When I left for Delhi, I tried to study, but the numbers kept increasing here. Another introduction is that I am also a lawyer. The scam I saw here reminded me of the Bihar fodder scam. The lawyer who filed the public interest litigation and got a CBI inquiry done in the fodder scam, Ravi Shankar, is sitting in front of you, in which Lalu Ji has been sentenced in 4 cases, and there may be more to come.”
