BJP releases its second list of candidates containing 64 candidates Three Members of Parliament are in fray, taking the number to four.

Raipur The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its second list of candidates for the upcoming elections, announcing a total of 64 candidates. This move showcases the party’s strategy as it gears up for the electoral battle in the state. Among the notable highlights of this second list are the allocation of tickets to three Members of Parliament (MPs) who will be entering the fray. MP Renuka Singh has been selected as the candidate from the Bharatpur-Sonahat constituency, while Gomati Sai has been given the responsibility of representing the Patthalganga Vidhan Sabha seat. Additionally, MP Arun Sao will be contesting from the Lormi constituency. Furthermore, the list includes 11 incumbent Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) who have been given the opportunity to defend their seats. This decision reflects the BJP’s confidence in the performance of these candidates. The BJP has now declared candidates for a total of 85 seats in Chhattisgarh, with just five seats left to be named. This comprehensive approach demonstrates the party’s commitment to presenting a strong and competitive roster of candidates in the upcoming elections. The Birnapur incident had witnessed communal tensions following the tragic death of his son, Bhuneshwar Sahu, and the BJP aims to leverage this sentiment. Chhattisgarhi actor Anuj Sharma has been fielded from the Dharsiwa constituency, a move that is seen as an effort to garner support from the Brahmin community. Brahmin candidates have received significant attention in this election. However, it’s worth noting that there was some opposition to Anuj Sharma’s candidacy after a viral list circulated. Arun Sao, the BJP state president, will be contesting from Lormi, a constituency where the Sahu community wields significant influence. The decision to field Dharmjeet Singh against Arun Sao in Takhatpur is indicative of the BJP’s strategic approach in the region. Additionally, former BJP president Vishnudev Sai is actively seeking to secure victories in all three seats within the Jashpur district.
