Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge accuses PM Narendra Modi of being ‘Leader of Liars’ in Raigarh ‘Bharose Ka Sammelan’

RaipurCongress president Mallikarjuna Kharge launched a blistering attack on the central government, branding Prime Minister Narandra Modi as the “leader of liars.” Kharge accused the BJP government of making false promises and criticized their track record. Kharge was addressing the Chhattisgarh Congress’ ‘Bharose Ka Sammelan’ at Raigarh on Wednesday.Kharge highlighted several issues, including the unfulfilled promise of distributing Rs 15 each to citizens, the failure to create 2 crore jobs as pledged, and the lack of doubling farmers’ income. He expressed disappointment in Modi’s visits to Chhattisgarh, where he focused on criticizing the state government instead of addressing critical local issues.Furthermore, Kharge pointed out allegations of corruption made by Modi against Chhattisgarh and questioned the BJP’s accomplishments during their 15 years in power. He commended the Bhupesh government for exceeding the prescribed paddy purchase limit and credited it with improving the income of Chhattisgarh’s residents. He emphasized that millions of people in Chhattisgarh had risen out of poverty in the last five years.Kharge also took aim at the central government’s concentration of power, asserting that only two individuals, Modi and Amit Shah, run the show. He claimed that they intimidate other state Chief Ministers and threaten them with investigative agencies like the ED and IT departments. Kharge accused Modi of spreading falsehoods during his visits to Telangana, Rajasthan, and Meghalaya. In a response to Modi’s claims regarding paddy purchase, Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, raised questions about the central government’s actions. Baghel challenged the discontinuation of bonuses during the BJP’s double-engine government tenure when paddy was being purchased at a higher price. He suggested that, if permitted by the Indian government, the bonus for two years of the BJP’s tenure would be credited to farmers’ accounts. These remarks by Kharge and Baghel reflect the ongoing political tensions and debates surrounding the performance and policies of the central government in India.
