Congress demands answers from BJP and Central Government over Manipur violence; Chhattisgarh’s Deputy CM Singhdeo proposes Amit Shah for PM

Raipur In view of continuous violence in Manipur for nearly last three months, the opposition Congress at centre has intensified its demand for accountability from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the central government. They are leaving no stone unturned to corner the Prime Minister on this pressing issue. Adding fuel to the fire, Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister, T S Singhdeo, has made a significant statement, proposing Amit Shah as the country’s Prime Minister. During a media interaction, Singhdeo expressed deep concern over the loss of lives and the inhumane act in the Manipur violence. He questioned the plausibility of the President being unaware of the situation through the Governor, with no continuous report being sent. He further asserted that it is unimaginable for the Prime Minister and Home Minister to remain uninformed on such critical matters. Singhdeo emphasized that in such grave situations, it becomes imperative for the Prime Minister to take responsibility and regain the trust of the nation, just as it has been done in the past. He stressed the importance of addressing the Parliament and actively participating in discussions to address the nation’s concerns. He emphasized that this is what Congress has advocated, and it is how it should be. In a bold proposition, Singhdeo suggested that if the Prime Minister is unwilling to take responsibility, then Amit Shah should be appointed as the Prime Minister, and he will provide the answers needed. In response to Singhdeo’s statement, former Minister Ajay Chandrakar has criticized him, stating that the respected Minister should first become the Chief Minister himself before talking about such matters. Chandrakar’s stance reflects the ongoing political tension surrounding the Manipur incident. Previously, Chandrakar raised questions on social media directed at Congress leaders, especially addressing Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge. He accused Congress of obstructing Parliament’s functioning concerning the Manipur issue, while raising the harrowing incident of a 5-year-old girl’s rape in Chhattisgarh. He questioned whether the ministers of Chhattisgarh would take responsibility and resign in the wake of such a distressing event.
