Raipur: Panchayat and rural development, health and family welfare and medical education minister TS Singh Deo reviewed the departmental works in a review meeting held in Mahasamund on Monday.
Deo reviewed the works of Mahasamund Medical College and health department as well as the progress of various schemes run under panchayat and rural development department. In the meeting, he directed the medical college to give indent to CGMSC for medicines. He asked the doctors of the medical college to prescribe generic medicines only so that people could get treatment at affordable rates.
The health minister directed officials and doctors of the health department to make such arrangements so that maximum numbers of medicines are provided to the patients free of cost. He asked to send maximum number of proposals for the claim amount for the treatment provided to IPD patients in government hospitals under the Khubchand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme. He expressed displeasure over the small number of proposals sent by the district hospitals for claims.
He also reviewed the progress of various schemes run by the panchayat and rural development department. He inquired about the works related to construction of Gauthan and pasture under Narva, Garwa, Ghurva, Bari scheme. He also reviewed works under MNREGA, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), National Rural Livelihood Mission, Rurban Mission, Mukhyamantri Samagra Gramin Vikas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Under the 14th Finance Commission, the amount distributed to the gram panchayats and the works of rural engineering services were reviewed.
