The Congress party has that number to win ensure victory and party candidate Ajay Maken is going to win the Rajya Sabha election, Baghel told media persons at Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur before his departure to Haryana on Thursday evening.

Speaking on the decision of Central government to hike MSP by Rs 100 per quintal of paddy, Chief Minister Baghel said that the Central government should have increased the MSP by at least Rs 200 per quintal keeping in mind inflation. “We are giving Rs 9000 per quintal to farmers as input subsidy per acre under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Input subsidy will increase if MSP is increased and farmers will get benefit even though Rs 100 per quintal hike is like a cumin seed in the mouth of a camel,” said Baghel.
