Raipur: “Youth is the future of society and has enormous power to shape a better world. They should channelize their energy in the right direction to renew and refresh the current status of society and play an important role in supporting society’s progress by staying connected with their roots”, said chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.
Baghel was addressing the district coordinators of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club at his residence office here late on Tuesday. He said adding that there should be an important initiative from the government to connect not only the women groups but also the interested young entrepreneurs or individuals to the rural industrial parks set up in state-run Gauthan. Here they can be indulged in various income-generating activities. This will help in creating job opportunities as well as boosting the income of rural and unemployed youth.
Baghel further said that the Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club scheme has been started in Chhattisgarh state to realize former Prime Minister Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi’s dream of ‘Modern India’. The objective is to harness the youth power to build ‘Nava Chhattisgarh’ (New Chhattisgarh). He also laid special emphasis on making these clubs more active. He asked to pace up the work of formation of these clubs in villages. The youth will play an important role in promoting culture and sports in the state besides ensuring that the benefit of welfare schemes reaches the target population.
