Cluster organization of State Rural Livelihood Mission will work as PIA in MGNREGA.

Dispatch News.Cluster organization of State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) will work as PIA (Project Implementation Agency) in plantation works under MGNREGA. For this, women of the cluster organization and field officers of National Rural Livelihood Mission are being trained at Thakur Pyarelal State Rural Development Training Institute (SIRD) in Nimora with the technical support of ‘PRADAN’ organization. This four-day special workshop for training has been organized by State Rural Livelihood Mission (BIHAN) and MGNREGA.

According to the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Rural Development, the cluster organization formed under the State Rural Livelihood Mission will work as PIA in the plantation works through MGNREGA. Cluster organizations will undertake nursery plantation, road and canal side plantation and block plantation. This will increase both the participation and responsibility of women in development works. The cluster organization will manage the labor in the plantation works and the arrangement of material and its payment.In the training program, Mission Director of ‘Bihaan’ Avnish Kumar Sharan and MGNREGA Commissioner Mohd Kaiser Abdulhaq gave PIA to the cluster representatives. Detailed information about the responsibilities of The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of ‘Bihaan’, Alice Lakra, Vinay Gupta of MNREGA and Manoj Kumar of Pradan Sanstha also guided the participants.Nine districts Raipur, Mahasamund, Durg, Balod, Gariaband, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Bemetara , Office bearers of cluster organizations of Bilaspur and Mungeli and field officers of National Rural Livelihood Mission got training. During this, they have to prepare nursery for plantation, muster-roll, action plan, estimate, demand preparation, selection of beneficiaries and MIS. Information regarding entry etc. was given. A total of 323 participants, including 89 CLFs, will be trained in the four-day workshop.
