Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel unveiled the idol of Lord Birsa Munda at Charama.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel unveiled a 15 feet tall statue of Lord Birsa Munda at Charama, the block headquarter of the Kanker district, this afternoon. The tribal society established the idol of Lord Birsa Munda at Darghan Chowk on Charama to Korar road. During this, the Chief Minister duly offered prayers and unveiled the statue. Also, congratulating the residents of the area and remembering the pride of the society, Birsa Munda offered flowers to his idol. Chief Minister also planted a plant of Kadamba on the campus and watered it. On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of Vidhan Sabha Manoj Singh Mandavi, District President of Sarva Adivasi Samaj Jeevan Thakur, District President of Gondwana Samaj Manak Darpatti, Charama President Rainsingh Kange, Sarva Tribal Samaj Charama President Gautam Kunjam, Samaj chief Thakur Ram Kashyap along with Senior officials of tribal society were present.

Chief Minister honoured the donor:- During this, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel honoured the Joshi family, who donated land for Birsa Munda’s statue at Darghan Chowk, by presenting a shawl and shriphal. On behalf of the family, veteran Chandrakant, Haripriya Joshi was felicitated at the hands of the Chief Minister. During this, the Chief Minister also posed for a picture with the little girl Tanushree Joshi.
