Chhattisgarh: 300 tribal women working in Dannex created world record by preparing 11,000 m long ‘chunri’

Raipur: Over 300 tribal women hailing from Dantewada, one of the worst Maoist-hit districts of Chhattisgarh, have made it to the Golden Book of World Records, preparing ‘longest chunri’ (11,000 m long). Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel offered this custom-made ‘chunri’ to Maa Danteshwari at Dantewada district. Earlier, an 8kms long chunri was offered to Narmada Maiya at Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh. These women have prepared this beautiful ‘chunri’ at Dannex clothing factory in just seven days. The entire Dantewada city turned ecstatic when Baghel reached Maa Danteshwari temple to present the 11kms long chunri to the deity. 

On the occasion, Chief Minister offered prayers to Maa Danteshwari and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the state. Meanwhile, chief minister also had Darshan of Mavli Mata and Bhairav ji in the temple premises. During this, the whole atmosphere in the temple premises was colored in spiritual color by the melodious sound of traditional instruments. Officials of the district administration said that the hard work and skills of these women are being recognized across the country. Baghel also interacted with the priests of the temple. They said that we residents of the state are fortunate to receive blessings of Maa Danteshwari.
