Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel watched the national award-winning film ‘Bhulan the Maze’ made in Chhattisgarh.
“I watched such a wonderful film after a long time. It is based on the rural life of Chhattisgarh. This movie depicts the simplicity of Chhattisgarh’s people. The ‘spirit of cooperation’ that has been depicted in the film is the ‘basic spirit’ of the people of Chhattisgarh. The film’s direction and screenplay are very good”, he said after enjoying the movie.
Announcing the movie to be tax-free, Baghel said “I appreciate the performance of all the actors and declare this film to be tax-free.” Chief Minister watched the film along with his cabinet ministers, MLAs, public representatives, and media persons.
Chief Minister also met the film director Manoj Verma and the writer Sanjeev Bakshi. He said that depicting the original nature of Chhattisgarhi people in cinema through Bhulan Kanda is commendable. Filming the beautiful culture of Chhattisgarh has been done very well. The space which has been given to folk songs and beautifully depicts the various aspects of Chhattisgarh’s village in the movie like the beauty of our village, the cooperation we have with each other, the collective decisions taken in the village and the people stand by each other in every situation.
Meanwhile, Bhulan The Maze, is based on the novel ‘Bhulan Kanda’ written by Sanjeev Bakshi. The book was written keeping in mind the cultural and popular beliefs of Chhattisgarh. The film has been directed by Manoj Verma. It has been awarded the 67th National Film Award and Chhattisgarh Government has also rewarded it with an amount of Rs.1 Crore.
The cast and crew were also very excited to have chief minister among them. Boosting their enthusiasm, chief minister said that your work very depicted our Chhattisgarhi culture, and due to this our beautiful culture is getting recognition all over the world. This is a very auspicious moment for Chhattisgarhi cinema. Such efforts should be continued in the future and to encourage this, the Government of Chhattisgarh has also prepared a film policy. Baghel also said that a film has been made on literature and this will give a new height to the cinema in Chhattisgarh.
