National Education Policy 2020 focuses on value-based quality education, says Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya VC

Raipur: Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal, delivered the keynote address at the ’11th Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University of Thailand Seminar 2023′ on March 01, 2023. The theme of the seminar was ‘The Research and Innovation for Creative Communities Sustainable Development 2022’. The Vice-Chancellor stressed the importance of using Asian knowledge tradition and culture to achieve the 17 sustainable development goals set in the United Nations Development Program. He presented a mantra to achieve these goals through 3 ‘C’–Create, Connect and Creativity and 4 ‘I’ Ingenuity, Innovation, Imagination, and Inspire.

During the seminar, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya and Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University signed an MoU to facilitate exchange programs, research, and innovation. Professor Chakrawal also highlighted the significance of the National Education Policy 2020, emphasizing its focus on empirical education, skill development, employment generation, and providing value-based quality education. He pointed out that Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is dedicated to preparing youth committed to the nation, who are ready to meet their obligations towards society.

He highlighted India’s role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations Development Program. He emphasized the importance of using Indian knowledge and culture to achieve the 17 sustainable development goals through the 3 ‘C’s and 4 ‘I’s. He also praised the National Education Policy 2020 for providing opportunities for everyone and carrying the spirit of equity, access, flexibility, research, and innovation.

Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor spoke about India’s contribution to global sustainability through initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and efforts to increase the use of renewable energy sources like solar and wind power. He stated that India has been working proactively towards reducing carbon footprint, better health facilities, and global peace and cooperation. The Vice-Chancellor called on the world to take a leaf out of India’s book in achieving the goals of sustainable development.

MoU Signed between both institutions

Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal on behalf of Guru Ghasidas Central University, and Dr. Chairit Siladeh, Chairman on behalf of Muban Chom Bueng Rajabhat University, Thailand signed a memorandum of  understanding for mutual cooperation in academics and research. Through this MoU, the two institutions will cooperate mutually in the field of research and innovation.
