Chhattisgarh Assembly paid tribute to Puneet Ram Sahu and Radheshyam Sharma

Raipur: At the onset of the proceedings at Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly today, members paid courteous tribute to Puneet Ram Sahu and Radheshyam Sharma, former members of the undivided Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

Proceedings of the House commenced with the introduction to the lives of both the departed members of the undivided Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Charandas Mahant threw light on their personality and works of both.

Chief minister Baghel while paying tribute to late Punitram Sahu said that he had a simple and easy-going personality. He was elected as MLA from Rajim assembly from year 1985 to 1990. He was very popular in his constinuency, he became the President of the Cooperative Society in 1970, also served as Panch-Sarpanch later, and had also held the post of President Fingeshwar Janpad Panchayat. His death is an irreparable loss for the state.

Remembering Radheshyam Sharma, chief minister said that he had made significant contribution in the field of social work, while being active in his public life. From the year 1993 to the year 1998, he served as the MLA from Bhatapara assembly constituency. He was recognized as a farmer and cooperative leader. In the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, he was an important part of several committees including. He rendered his services as the Chairman of NABARD, Vice President of Madhya Pradesh Kisan Congress, President of Raipur District Cooperative Land Development Bank, member of IFFCO and KRIBHCO, selected representative of National Cooperative Union of India etc. He used to raise issues of public interest confidently. He had also drawn attention of the authorities towards the problems of former MLAs.

Expressing his condolences to the families of both the late personalities, Baghel prayed for their souls to rest in peace. Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel and MLA Shivratan Sharma also paid tributes to the deceased. Members of Legislative Assembly paid tribute to departed souls by observing two-minute silence in the House.
