Pendra:Member of Parliament from Korba Jyotsna Mahanton Tuesday has put a rest to the speculations over Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant filing nomination for the RajyaSabha Member from Chhattisgarh. It may be mentioned, Tuesday was the first day of nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections. MP Jyotsna Mahantmade it clear that her husband Dr Charandas Mahantwill not claim for Rajya Sabha. “There is no desire to go to Rajya Sabha now. Now we will only serve Chhattisgarh and our people,” said MP Mahantwhile interacting with media persons during her visit to Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM) district on Tuesday.
The Korba MP said that the earlier statements of Dr Charandas Mahant has been distorted. He had said that he had only one wish that he can fulfill is to become a Rajya Sabha MP. But his statement was misinterpreted that he wants to become a RajyaSabha MP, said Jyotsna Mahant who also made it clear that whenever they make up their mind they will go to the Rajya Sabha
Korba and Bilaspur MPs had reached the meeting held in GPM. Korba MP Mahant, Bilaspur MP ArunSao and Marwahi MLA K K Dhruv had reached GPM to attend the meeting. The Lok Sabhaconstituency of both the districts comes under the newly formed district. In such a situation, a meeting was held with the District Mineral Foundation Trust Committee and Disha Committee regarding development and further action plans. In this meeting held in the Collectorate Hall, MP JyotsnaMahant had reached to attend with her son and daughter.
New sand mines will open, displeasure over not constructing houses
Bilaspur MP Arun Sao expressed displeasure over the non-construction of houses under the existing schemes including PM Housing scheme. He said that this is injustice to 15 lakh people of the state. On the other hand, Korba MP Mahant assured the opening of new mines if there is not a single sand mine operational in the district. Kota MLA RenuJogi could not attend the meeting due to her health problem. She has been admitted to Medanta Hospital in Delhi.
