Congress stalwarts reach Raipur to review preparations for party’s three-day plenary session taking place in Raipur from February 24 to 26


Several senior Congress leaders, including AICC general secretaries K C Venugopal, Tariq Anwar and treasurer Pawan Bansal, have reached Raipur to inspect the ongoing preparations for the party plenary session being organised for the first time in Chhattisgarh from February 24 to 25.

State in-charge of Congress Kumari Selja is already in Raipur for last two days. All the leaders along with Chief Minister BhupeshBaghel reached the convention site of Nava Raipur and enquired about the preparations. It was said that the meetings of the convention will be held at Rajyotsav venue of Nava Raipur. There will be a general meeting on the last dayand arrangements are being made for this at Purkhauti Muktangan.

Congress has formed the organizing committee led by Pawan Bansal and distributed responsibilities among the committee members. Tariq Anwar is the coordinator of that committee whereas Venugopal and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel are members of that committee. 

Congress Chhattisgarh President Mohan Markam welcomed the national leaders at the airport. The leaders also visited PurkhautiMuktangan. 

Congress Communications Department President Sushil Anand Shukla said that on February 24, 25 and 26, there will be General Conference at the main venue of the MelaGround. In this, 10 to 15 thousand representatives from across the country will participate. There will be a general meeting on the last day i.e. February 26 evening. For this, a pandal is being made at Purkhauti Muktangan. More than one lakh people are expected to attend this gathering. Arrangements are also being made accordingly.

Recently, Chief Minister Baghel had said about the 85th session of the Indian National Congress Raipur will be a historic and proud moment for Chhattisgarh. All the stalwarts of AICC will also reach Chhattisgarh. Sonia Gandhi, PriyankaGandhi can also be involved in this. The State Congress Committee will soon announce the dates after a high-level meeting regarding its preparations.
