Raipur. The fire of communal violence in Kawardha two months ago has cooled down, but the game of political mileage continues. BJP has once again hit the road on the Kawardha issue. Under the leadership of state president Vishnudev Sai, party workers, including BJP MPs and MLAs, surrounded the CM House. The police stopped them near the Civil Lines police station. After a slight scuffle, the police detained all the leaders and made them sit in the Civil Lines police station. Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh is also among the arrested leaders.

The BJP leaders took out a rally in the afternoon from the Ekatma complex in Rajbandha pond. The rally reached Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Chowk at Collectorate Chowk via Shaheed Memorial, Shastri Chowk. Here BJP leaders demonstrated for some time. From there the rally crossed the Raj Bhavan and advanced on Circuit House Road. The police stopped the rally from proceeding near the Civil Lines police station. During this, BJP leaders had a dispute with the police. When the BJP leaders refused to return after a mild scuffle, they were arrested. All were taken to the Civil Lines police station.

Former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said the whole of Chhattisgarh is angry about the Kawardha incident. To express this outrage, we have come out on the road. BJP state president Vishnudev Sai said we have come to sit on the dharna. We want all the FIR, in this case, quashed, the case should be withdrawn, and there should be a judicial inquiry into the incident.

Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik said that there is public outrage in the state regarding the Kawardha issue. The policy of the state government on this issue is not clear. Our demonstration against judicial inquiry into the matter will continue forever. We will continue till the state government announces the investigation. In a democracy, everyone has the right to speak his mind. The Congress government is constantly trying to cover up the matter.
