Avimukteshwaranand Highlights Challenges of Bangladeshi Hindus, Criticizes BJP’s Stance During Raipur Visit
Raipur
Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, during his visit to Chhattisgarh, addressed media concerns about atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. He emphasized that India, as the homeland of Hindus, should provide refuge to those fleeing persecution. Criticizing political protests by ruling parties, he questioned their necessity and stressed the responsibility of governance. He also remarked on campaigns for a Hindu nation, highlighting the risks of disregarding traditional Hindu systems of caste and ashram, and cautioned against conversions in Bastar linked to such initiatives.
“We had written a letter to the Prime Minister and the President to let them come, today that issue is increasing, we are unable to do anything despite escalating situation,” he said.
On BJP’s protest on the atrocities on Bangladeshi Hindus, he said that when they are in power, then what is the need for protest. By protesting, they are trying to take political advantage. “Bangladesh was formed because of us. If nothing is done on this issue, then there are many Bangladeshis here too,” he said.
He further told media that the slogan “Batoge toh Katoge is wrong. “Were we not safe before this? Who has cut us till now. By giving this slogan, they want to say that if you do not vote for us, if you vote anywhere else, we will be cut off, why are you threatening, no one is saying anything new on this. This slogan is wrong,” he said.
On Pandit Dhirendra Shastri’s padayatra to create a Hindu nation, the Shankaracharya has said that he welcomes anyone who does padayatra.
Regarding the victory of Mahayuti in Maharashtra, Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said that when Eknath Shinde’s government was in Maharashtra, he fulfilled demand and gave Gau Mata the status of Rajya Mata and he got such a big victory.
