Two Engineers from Chhattisgarh tops in UPSC 2020 examinations

94th rank in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination 2020

The results were out late
on Friday. Akash is confident of becoming an IAS. Similarly, Akash Shukla, son
of Shashi Kumar Shukla, who runs the Choice Center in Mahasamund, has got 427th
rank. Both are also engineering pass outs from NIT Raipur.

Akash Srishreemal of
Kawardha was preparing for the exam for the last two years. Most of the people
keep distance from social media platforms in preparation for such exams, but
Akash has made it his strength. Akash said that he has accounts on WhatsApp,
Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. He used it to prepare for the exam. Many
groups were formed for the study, where discussions were held and study
materials were also shared.

Akash Srishrimal holds
a degree in Civil Engineering from NIT, Raipur. He appeared in UPSC exam for
the first time in the year 2018. Then after passing from NIT in 2019, he
started preparation with utmost dedication. Akash is said to be the first youth
from Kabirdham district, who has secured 94 rank in UPSC exam. If he becomes an
IPS, then he would be the first direct IPS of the district.

After schooling from
Navodaya, Akash of Mahasamund completed his engineering in Mining Branch from
NIT Raipur. He said that I met some IAS officers while in the last year of
engineering, and then felt that I should go to the administrative service. He started
his preparation from June 2017 and also stayed in Delhi for coaching. He studied
for 7 hours a day in Nalanda Library here. Most of the focus was on Group
Discussion. Due to this, all kinds of doubts related to the topics became

In the UPSC interview,
the question related to Chhattisgarh became special for both of them. Akash
Srishrimal told that about 2000 candidates were called in the interview. He was
asked many questions by the interview panel for half an hour. In this mainly
questions were asked about the status of education in Chhattisgarh. At the same
time, Akash Shukla told that his optional subject was history. He was asked
about the contribution of Chhattisgarh in the history of India?
