Raipur: During the National Tribal Dance
Festival starting from October 28 at Science College Ground in Raipur, people
will get an opportunity to get detailed information about the costumes,
jewellery, crafts, designs and food of the tribal traditions. Along with Tribal
Dance Area and Speaker Lounge, Live Showcase Area, Tribal Inspired Exhibit,
Shilp-Village and Food-Area will also be created in the festival.
Various tribal dances will be
performed by national and international tribes from October 28 to 30 in the
Tribal Dance Area. The Speaker Lounge will provide an opportunity to the tribal
communities to share their experiences in various fields including arts, music,
film, health, tourism, and food. Through this platform they will also be able
to share their thoughts about the developments in their community and future
The works of tribals will be showcased
in the live showcase area. People will be able to get detailed information
about tribal arts and crafts by interacting with the tribal artists. The Tribal
Inspired Exhibit will showcase costumes, jewellery, designs, etc. inspired by
tribal culture. Handicrafts will be displayed and sold in Shilp-gram. In the
food area, people will get familiar with the traditions of local and tribal
food and drink of Chhattisgarh.
Initiatives are also being taken by the
government through the National Tribal Dance Festival to enhance mutual
cooperation between tribal communities and organizations and to explore the
possibilities of development. Efforts will also be made to promote rural
development, environment and tourism through this festival. Grand preparations
are being made for organizing the National Tribal Dance Festival in all the
districts of Chhattisgarh including Nava-Raipur.
Continuous practice is being done by the
artists from all the districts of the state to participate in this festival. Programmes
are also being organized in the districts for the selection of these artists.
Tribal artists from 25 states and 6 countries participated in the National
Tribal Dance Festival held in Chhattisgarh in the year 2019. So far,
in-principle approvals have been received from 8 countries for participation in
this year’s festival. These include Uganda, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Swaziland,
Male, Sri Lanka, Palestine and Syria. After the gap due to the circumstances
arising during Covid-19 pandemic, now preparations are being made on a large
scale to organize the event again in the year 2021 with full grandeur.
