Rich Cultural Heritage of Chhattisgarh should be glorified at national-international-level: CM Bhupesh Baghel

Raipur: Chief minister Bhupesh
Baghel today chaired the first introductory meeting of Chhattisgarh Culture
Council at his residence office today, and welcomed the newly-appointed
members.

On the occasion, Chief
Minister said that the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh should be
promoted at the national and international level. Chief Minister congratulated the
members of the council and requested them to work together and uphold the pride
of Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage.

Chief Minister further
said that the experts of art-culture and related disciplines have been
appointed as the members of Chhattisgarh Sanskriti Parishad (Chhattisgarh
Culture Council). This council would establish a new cultural identity of
Chhattisgarh at the national level and would also provide an opportunity to bring
forth the talents of the state.

Baghel said that
earlier Chhattisgarh was identified as a Naxalite state, but after the
formation of the new government, a lot of work has been done in the last three years in
the field of farmers welfare, agriculture, development of tribals, and cultural
preservation-promotion, which has significantly transformed the identity of the
state.

In his address to the
meeting, Vice-President of Chhattisgarh Culture Council and Culture Minister
Amarjeet Bhagat said that this newly-formed Culture Council would take forward
the culture of Chhattisgarh in a holistic manner. Adviser to the Chief Minister
Vinod Verma also addressed the programme, saying that Chhattisgarh has had a
big contribution to the cultural development of Madhya Pradesh. And now
Chhattisgarh Cultural Council has been constituted to take the Culture of
Chhattisgarh to new heights of recognition at the national level. This will give
an opportunity for the cultural talents of the state to flourish.

The meeting was
attended by Khairagah University vice-chancellor Padma Shri Mamta Chandrakar, culture
secretary Anbalgan P., Director Vivek Acharya along art and theatre
experts.
