On Thursday, Municipal MLA Shailesh Pandey inspected different types of stalls in the three-day state level Krishi Samridhi Mela organized at Science College ground. He inspected the exhibition and models put up by the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Livestock Development Department and Water Resources Department.

The Water Resources Department model of Arpa barrage is attracting people. MLA Shailesh Pandey also reached the exhibition and inspected it closely and took detailed information.

Giving information about Arpa barrage, city MLA Shailesh Pandey said that after the approval of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Water Resources Minister Ravindra Choubey to build two barrages in Arpa, construction work has started, one at Shivghat and the other at Pachrighat. The work is going on, Minister Ravindra Choubey has given instructions to the officers to complete the construction work within the stipulated time frame, water will be stopped in Arpa throughout the year and people of Bilaspur city will be able to get water.

MLA Shailesh Pandey said that the work of construction of the barrage is going on quickly. The previous BJP government has cheated the people of the city. The people were longing for water, the water level of Arpa River has fallen sharply and no effort was made to preserve, enhance and beautify this Arpa River. For 15 years, the BJP government has cheated the people of Bilaspur, and the Arpa was continuously drying up.

But Congress had given priority to Anicut and Barrage construction in its manifesto. After the formation of the government, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Water Resources Minister Ravindra Choubey had announced the construction of two big barrages in the assembly on my demand. Two big barrages are being constructed at Shiv Ghat and Pacharighat, which will stop the up water and now 12 months water will remain in today’s dry Arpa, which will solve the water problem of the people of Bilaspur city. MLA Shailesh Pandey has thanked everyone on behalf of the people of Bilaspur.


Giving detailed information about the barrage, MLA Shailesh Pandey said that the Water Resources Department is building the two barrages at Shiv Ghat and Pachrighat at a cost of Rs 100 crore in Arpa river.

City MLA Shailesh Pandey began the work barrage construction in Arpa. He has continuously raised his voice every session of the Vidhan Sabha, and reiterated the demand. Finally, during the assembly session, the government had announced the construction of two big barrages at a cost of Rs 100 crore, fulfilling the demand of the city MLA.
