Raipur. The Coronavirus situation in Chhattisgarh is getting worse. The first patient of Omicron, a new variant of coronavirus, has been found in the state. A 52-year old man in Bilaspur, who recently returned from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
His sample was sent to the Institute of Life Sciences Bhubaneswar for Genomic Sequencing Test (WGS). The Health Department has received the investigation report today, in which the Omicron (“Omicron” B.1.1529) variant of Covid-19 got confirmed.
The number of Coronavirus patients in Chhattisgarh is increasing day by day. On Tuesday, 1059 new Covid positive patients were identified. Three of the infected patients have died. The number of active coronavirus patients in the state has increased to 2977. Due to this, the government and administration are now taking strict steps.
