DPI instructs DEOs to give information regarding teachers remaining absent from duty and participating in demonstration

Raipur:
Directorate of Public Instructions (DPI) Chhattisgarh has sought the
information of such teachers from the District Education Officers, who are
absent from the headquarters without permission and are participating in the
demonstration.

commissioner has instructed DEOs not to sanction leave to such teachers absent
from the headquarters besides issuing them show cause notices as per rules and
take action accordingly as per no-work-no-pay principle (dies non) of absent
period and provide compliance report to the Directorate.

In
the letter issued to the District Education Officers, it has been said that due
to the outbreak of Covid-19 virus in the last two sessions, studies in schools
have been disrupted. After the commencement of the school operation, it was
expected that the loss of studies caused to the students would be addressed by
the teachers, but the staff of the assistant teacher cadre are participating in
the protest demonstration in Raipur for their demands.
