The Covid-19 vaccination drive for children of 12 to 14 years age group will
begin from March 16 in Chhattisgarh. All necessary preparation for administering
vaccines to 13 lakh 21 thousand 286 children of this age group have been
completed across the state by the Health Department. For this, eligible
beneficiaries can register themselves on the CoWin App. State Nodal Officer for
Corona Vaccination and Director of National Health Mission Dr. Priyanka Shukla
informed that children in the age group of 12 to 14 years will be given
Corbevax vaccines developed by Hyderabad-based Biological E. Ltd. The second
dose will be administered four weeks after the first dose. Orientation of vaccination
officers of all the districts has been done.
Shukla also informed that co-morbidity is not a mandatory requirement now for administering
precaution doses to people above the age of 60 years. People in this age group
who have completed nine months or 39 weeks for the second dose can take their
third dose at the nearest COVID vaccination center. Eligible citizens can get
the third dose by registering in the CoWIN app. At present, more than one lakh
64 thousand vaccines are available for Covid vaccination in the state.
More than 1.73 crore population fully
jabbed in the state
than 1.73 crore people of the state have been administered both doses of Covid-19
vaccine. Likewise, almost all eligible people above 18 years of age have received
the first dose of the corona vaccine. Over 1.97 crore people of this age group have
been administered the first dose while 1.65 crore people are fully vaccinated.
