CM Baghel seeks suggestions from Directors of IIM, IIT, NIT, IIIT on creating employment opportunities for youths
The first meeting of Rozgar Mission was held on Sunday.

Raipur:Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that the youths should be made industry and market ready through proper training. Once the training of youths is over, they should be able to face the cut-throat competition in the market, said the Chief Minister while chairing the first meeting of Chhattisgarh Rozgar Mission at his residence on Sunday.
The Chief Minister emphasised that the production in the Rural Industrial Park, established in rural areas, should be done as per market demand. To enhance the quality and certification of these products, cooperation of higher technical institutions situated in Chhattisgarh should be sought. He said that a better eco-system should be created for new startups, so that youth can get better employment opportunities.
Baghel directed to work expeditiously towards the creation of new employment opportunities and to review the work of the Mission at regular interval. It is worth mentioning that with the aim of creating 12 to 15 lakh new employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh in the next five years, the state government has constituted the Mission.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday sought suggestions on employment generation from the directors of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Management (IIM), International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) and National Institute Technology (NIT). The Chief Minister was chairing the first meeting of Chhattisgarh Rozgar Mission on Sunday.
The Chief Minister further said that the higher educational institutions should come forward for certification and standardization of products from rural areas of Chhattisgarh. He urged these institutions to cooperate in bringing new startups as well as reputed companies of the country to Chhattisgarh. The new companies will bring employment opportunities for Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the state level office of the Mission in the capital Raipur through video conferencing on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary. At the beginning of the programme, Chief Minister Baghel paid homage to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose by paying floral tributes. Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister and Working President of Mission Umesh Patel, Chief Secretary and Vice-Chairman of Mission Amitabh Jain were present along with senior officials.
The Chief Minister said that according to the needs of local industries, youth should be trained in various trades and their skills should be upgraded, so that youth can be easily employed in industries. Similarly, in the areas where new industries are to be set up, before setting up of industries, the youth of that area should be identified and upgraded according to their educational qualification and the needs of the upcoming industries, so that more local youths can get employment in these industries. He said that survey of youth would be done through collectors in the areas where new industries are to be set up. According to their educational qualification, arrangements will be made for training of youth in various trades like ITI, Livelihood College etc.
The Chief Minister also asked the officers to conduct a survey in the markets of urban areas to see which products are well consumed. On the basis of the survey, such products should be produced in the Rural Industrial Park being developed in Gauthan. Local people should be involved in this work. Baghelsaid that the portal prepared earlier should be reactivated so that people doing small jobs like plumbers, electricians, carpenters can get employment easily. There is a huge demand for these works in urban areas.
Principal Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Mission Dr Alok Shukla gave a presentation. He informed that employment opportunities have been created on a large scale in Chhattisgarh due to the progress of agriculture sector, rural industrial park in Gauthan, Godhan Nyay Yojana, collection and value addition of minor forest produce. A large number of people have also got employment in government and private sector. As a result of which the unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh has come down to just 2.1 percent.
He also informed during the presentation that eco-tourism, adventure tourism, home-stay, food processing, herbal medicine, handicrafts and cosa and silk would work to create a better market and new employment opportunities.
