CM Baghel fulfills his promise, announces district status for Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai

Raipur:Chief Minister also announced tehsil status for Salhewara and sub-tehsil status for Jalbandha.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai as district hours after Congress registered a huge victory in the Khairagarh by-election, counting of which was held on Saturday. Voting to the Khairagarh Assembly constituency was held on April 12.

It may be recalled, Congress had come up with a manifesto carrying 29 promises including district status to Khairagarh. Keeping his promise, Chief Minister fulfilled the long-pending demand of Khairagarh people within three hours of the winning certificate received by the Congress candidate Yoshada Vermawho defeated her nearest BJP candidate by over 20000 votes. With it, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai has become the 33rddistrict of the state.

The Chief Minister also announced tehsil status for Salhewaraand sub-tehsil status for Jalbandha. The chief minister said that five new districts have come up in the state under his rule. The chief minister made this announcement in the presence of the people of Khairagarh.
