CG Govt forms comm. To probe into fake seed supply

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Government on Wednesday constituted a team for an inquiry into the fake seed case reportedly exposed during a recent raid in Raipur. It is worthwhile to mention, BJP farmer cell leader Gouri Shankar Shrivas had opened a front against fake and sub-standard seeds being sold to farmers in the state. Shrivas had also exposed a buyer of a multi-national company through a raid at the Company’s Magneto mall situated office at Raipur.

According to Shrivas, the arrival of fake seeds in larger quantities in the state had affected production of farmers in the state. Shrivas had raised this issue before the Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh as well as the Agriculture Director. On the basis of the complaint, Agriculture Director formed a committee of the Department and sought division-wise reports on the same.
