Bilaspur to get a 300-bed super multi-specialty hospital soon

Raipur: On Tuesday, in
the winter session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, MLA Shailesh
Pandey questioned Health and Family Welfare Minister TS Singh Deo regarding the
super specialty hospital of CIMS under construction in Koni.

Responding to the
question, health minister TS Singh Deo told the house that neurology,
Neurosurgery, Cardiology, CTVS (Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery), Nephrology
and Urology departments will function in the hospital and treatments of related
diseases will be done here. The construction of the 300-bed hospital will be
completed soon and will be dedicated to the public.

MLA Shailesh Pandey
said that all types of basic treatment facilities are available in the present CIMS,
but by building a super specialty hospital, more facilities will be available
at less cost. Everything will remain in the same premises. Besides, state’s
first cancer hospital will be constructed in 10 acres. Out of this complex, the
super specialty hospital and other necessary units will be located on 40 acres
of land. Super specialty hospital being prepared for all serious diseases
including heart, cancer, and emergency facilities will also be available here.

MLA Shailesh Pandey
informed that after DKS Multi-Specialty Hospital, Raipur, the second Government
Multi-Super Specialty Hospital of the state is being constructed in Bilaspur. Apart
from OPD, IPD, emergency medicine, intensive care facility will be available in
this hospital. Apart from Bilaspur division here, patients of Chhattisgarh and
all over the country will get health facilities at government rates. Apart from
this, the teaching of super specialty courses will also start. This will remove
the shortage of super specialty doctors in the state.

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh’s
second government multi super specialty hospital is being built in Koni. The
hospital being built on 44.58 acres land will have facilities like State Cancer
Institute, Trauma Centre, Burn Centre, Hostel, accommodation for doctors and
staff, among others. Most of the construction work in the hospital has been
completed and remaining is likely to be completed soon. Although the hospital
was to be completed by February 2020, but the project got delayed due to the
Corona pandemic. With its launch, people of the entire state and country
including Bilaspur will get better treatment at the nominal charges.
