After Raipur and Akola, Pune police lodges FIR against self-styled Godman Kalicharan Maharaj
Raipur: After Raipur and Akola police, Pune police has also lodged an FIR against self-styled Godman Kalicharan Maharaj for allegedly criticizing Mahatma Gandhi and praising his assassin Nathuram Vinayak Godse at the recently held Dharam Sansad in Raipur.
As per police sources, an FIR has been registered by Pune police against Kalicharan, Milind Ekbote, Nandkishore Ekbote and three others for disturbing communal harmony, derogatory comments on the Father of the Nation.
Meanwhile an FIR was registered against Kalicharan in Akola on December 28 and in Raipur on the intervening night of December 26 and 27. Kalicharan had released a video message after registration of FIR that he will not back down from his words. There has been a political stir in Chhattisgarh over this controversy. Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has warned Kalicharan to surrender and a blame game has been started between the ruling Congress and opposition BJP over this.
