3 Naxalites killed, Ak-47 Rifle recovered on Telangana-Chhattisgarh border

Bastar:As many as three Naxalites were killed in a fierce battle between security personnel and Naxalites on Chhattisgarh-Telangana border on Monday. A AK-47 Rifle and other weapons were recovered from the site, according to Bastar Range IG Sundarraj P. According to him jawans were still in the jungle. Telangana Police and Telangana Greyhyounds carried out the operation.

According to information, tip-off regarding the presence of large number of Nalxalites in the jungles of Mulgu district was received and on the basis of this the forces had launched a search operation. It was said that the Naxalites opened fire when security personnel entered the jungle. Security personnel retaliated and the battle lasted for about two hours. 

The Naxalites fled when they failed to counter the security forces. It is to be  mentioned, jungles of Mulgu district of Telangana is connected to Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, forces in bordering districts of Chhattisgarh have been alerted in the wake of this incident. Naxalites died in Telangana could not be notified. More information regarding the incident could be obtained only after the return of the jawans from the forests.
