Tremendous boom in the automobile sector of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Dhanteras-Deepawali

Raipur: Despite the challenges of the pandemic, there has
been a major boom in the automobile sector of Chhattisgarh during Dhanteras and
Deepawali, this year as well. During the festive period of Diwali this year, an
increase of 17.17 per cent has been recorded in the registration of vehicles in
the state, as compared to last year.

Sale of tractors, harvesters, commercial tractors used in
the agricultural sector has also increased significantly. Besides, there has
also been a significant increase in the purchase of personal use vehicles,
motor cycles, and goods carrier vehicles.

According to the information received from the Transport
Department, 13, 706 vehicles were purchased between November 2 and 6,
i.e.  during Diwali in 2021, whereas last year i.e. in year 2020 between
November 12 and during Diwali, 11, 697 vehicles were purchased. There has been
an increase of 17.17 per cent in the registration of vehicles purchased this
year during Diwali, as compared to last year.

Baghel have created opportunities of employment and income for farmers, laborers
and people of all the sections of the society. Even during the pandemic and
lockdown, economic activities were continuously conducted in the state, putting
money in the pocket of common people. In last two years during
Dhanteras-Dipawali, automobile sector has shown significant growth.  Rapid
decline in the COVID-infection rate this year has also resulted in major boom
in the market. Paddy procurement process went on even during the COVID crisis.
People got the opportunities of employment and income through Rajiv Gandhi
Kisan Nyay Yojana, Suraaji Gaon Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, hike in wages of
Tendupatta collection, collection-procurement-value addition of minor forest
produce, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment scheme.


In year 2021 during Diwali, 607 tractors (used for
agricultural work) were purchased, while in year 2020, 242 tractors were
purchased during Diwali. Similarly, in year 2021, 9 harvesters and 18
commercial tractors were sold, whereas last year only 01 harvester and 7
commercial tractors were sold. Similarly, in year 2021, 11, 313 motor cycles
and scooters, 153 mopeds were purchased, while in year 2020 during Diwali, 9, 223
motor cycles and scooters, 31 moped vehicles were purchased. Similarly, in year
2021, 13 omnibuses, 11 maxi cabs, 10 motor cabs, 19 e-rickshaws, 5 e-rickshaws
with card were purchased for personal use. Last year 7 Omni Bus, 1 Maxi Cab, 8
Motor Cab, 13 E-Rickshaw and 29 E-Rickshaw with Card was purchased. Besides,
1370 cars, 140 goods carrier vehicles, 23 excavators have been purchased this
year.
